Privacy policy

The short version

We collect your email address if you create an account, and anonymous usage events so we can see which parts of the product work. We don't run third-party trackers or ad pixels, we never see your card details, and your SQL queries never leave your browser. Want your data gone? One email.

Who we are

SelectFromData (selectfromdata.com) is operated by Ravizen, a Belgian company. For anything in this policy, contact hello@selectfromdata.com.

What we collect, and why

Account data. If you create an account: your email address and a password (stored hashed by our authentication provider, Supabase). We use the email to sign you in and to sync your learning progress across devices — nothing else. No newsletter unless you join the waitlist yourself.

Learning progress. Completed engagements, earned stars and rank — stored in your browser, and in our database when you have an account.

Usage events. First-party analytics: page views, product events (like completing a case), a random session identifier, and — if you arrived via a link with campaign parameters — the source of your visit. These land in our own database (Supabase); no Google Analytics, no Meta pixel, no third-party trackers of any kind.

Waitlist. If you join a waitlist, we store that email and the page you joined from, and use it only to send you the message you signed up for.

Payments. Checkout is handled by Stripe, with Link as the seller of record. We never receive or store your card details. After a purchase we store your email and a customer reference so your Pro access unlocks and can be revoked when a subscription ends.

What we deliberately don't do

Your SQL runs in a database inside your own browser — queries and query results are never sent to our servers. We don't sell or share personal data, we don't do ad retargeting, and we don't set third-party cookies. Local storage on your device keeps your session and progress working; it's not used to track you across other sites.

Where your data lives, and how long

Account, progress, and event data are stored with Supabase; the site is hosted on Vercel; transactional email is sent via Resend from our own domain. We keep account data for as long as the account exists. Delete your account — or ask us to — and the associated personal data goes with it.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you can ask for a copy of your data, have it corrected, or have it deleted. Mail hello@selectfromdata.com from the address on your account and we'll handle it — no forms, no dark patterns. You can also complain to your local data protection authority (in Belgium: the GBA/APD).

Changes

If this policy changes in a way that matters, the date at the top changes with it. This page is versioned alongside the product's source code, so the policy and the actual behaviour move together.
